Heroes from our neighbourhood - Norway

Leiv Vidar

Our hero’s name is Leiv Vidar and he be born in Ringerike at the beginning of the 20th century. He is a man Who survived the concentration camp during the 2nd World War.
He is a hero because he was on a boat on its way to England with important materials. But the ship was bombed by a German ship. Many people died, but about 150 peoples survived, and they were saved by the Germans and they were put in three different concentration camps. The first camp was ok, but he received little food and maybe only once a day. Then second camp was worse than the first, the last was the worst of all. More than half of the people died and Leiv Vidar had many friends and died in the camp. But he was quite fit, so he only almost died. The Germans ruled in Norway for five years. Leiv Vidar and the others were saved by the Swedish White busses. And the Swedes  decided for to help Norway. And then he opened a butcher’s shop in Hønefoss. He is very well known for his hot dogs.
He is very important to us because we feel he has done so much good and his hot dogs taste good.

Written by Sander M and Benjamin.

Truls Bråten

Our hero is a man named Truls Bråten. He is one of our classmate’s grand grandfather. He is a hero because he saved his mum from drowning. She was washing clothes and fell into the river. He jumped into the river to save her. He risked his own life to save his mother. This is why we chose him as our hero. We think it is heroic to save someone’s life.
Made by Anders, Stian and Niklas

Mom and Dad

My everyday hero is my mom and dad.Because when I get bothered or hurt then I feel bad..
And then they comforted me and I shall be happy.. And I have more heros and that's my sisters.
They like that I'm with them. Done.
Marius halfway to 20 years.

My Uncle

My hero is my uncle, he's been in Africa for two years with and help other people and get food, water, a place and stay, and clothing. He lives in the neighborhood and he is positive to others he thought good works when he went to Africa for those who trained assistance. He is 45 years old.

Our project logo!

Hi Guys!

Just received the logo and I must say we really like it. It's really beautiful, colourful but most importantly we think it conveys the message of our project. We will now be using it for all the activities connected with the tasks in our project.

What are your thoughts?
